The Opportunity:
Culture Biosciences is looking for a Senior Manager, Human Resources. Your focus will be on leading and directing the functions of the Human Resources department including staffing, compensation, benefits, leave administration, policy development, and talent management programs. This role will manage a small team of HR professionals, providing leadership and guidance, and ensuring all HR operations run smoothly and efficiently.
What you'll do:
- Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's Human Resource and Talent Strategy.
- Manage the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring qualified job applicants. Collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Manage the Total Rewards program. Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Create learning and development programs that provide career development tools, resources, and growth opportunities for our employees.
- Provide support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Oversee all HR systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and ease of use for our employees.
- Develop and lead process improvement efforts on all our people programs (performance reviews, employee engagement surveys, benefits renewal process, etc.).
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain company compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and recent technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Closely partner with all G&A functions to effectively support the company’s operations and administrative needs.
- Manages additional projects and initiatives as assigned.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP are highly desired.
- 10 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Thorough understanding of HR best practices and employment laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team of HR professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels across the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze HR data and provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Proficient at managing and utilizing HR systems such as Rippling, Lattice, Easyllama, Greenhouse, LinkedIn Learning, etc.
- Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
- High attention to detail to ensure that all payroll and other HR-related tasks are completed accurately and on-time.
Location & Schedule:
- This is an onsite position. We’re looking for someone based in the San Francisco Bay Area who is able to work in person at our office in South San Francisco 4 days per week, and the option to work remotely 1 day per week.
Base Salary Range:
Culture Biosciences’ compensation package includes market competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles, and great benefits. Our expected salary range for this role is $150,000 to $189,000. Final offers may vary within the range provided based on experience, expertise, and other factors.
