EDA’s signature Earth Observation mission, the EarthDaily Constellation (EDC), is currently under construction. It will combine with the EarthPipeline data processing system to provide unprecedented, scientific-grade data of the world every day, positioning EDA to meet the growing needs of diverse industries.

Do you want to join the Finance team of one of the most exciting space companies at the forefront of global change detection/change monitoring? We are looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant who will be responsible for day-to-day accounting transactions. This is a Vancouver-based hybrid position, with some in-office work required. Candidates must have full-time availability during the business hours of 9am-5:30pm Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required.
PREPARE FOR IMPACT!
Reporting to the Accounting manager, and working closely with other members of the Finance team, both in the Vancouver corporate office and globally, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting transactions, maintaining parts of the general ledger, processing month-end transactions and other duties to support the Finance team. This position serves as an ERP expert in Netsuite, maintaining routine reports and resolving issues when necessary.
Responsibilities include:
General Ledger & Accounting
- Maintain the general ledger for parent company and subsidiaries
- Prepare and review month-end journal entries, reconciliations, and working papers
- Maintain capital asset sub-ledger and record monthly depreciation
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Oversee AP/AR accuracy including POs, payment runs, and vendor management
- Review credit card statements, expense reports, and customer invoices
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams for accurate, timely billing
Financial Reporting
- Prepare consolidated monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Process month-end close including FX translation and consolidation entries
- Prepare accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, intercompany balances, and management fee recharges
Audit & Year-End
- Lead year-end audit requests and prepare financial statement note disclosures
- Assist with FS notes in accordance with applicable accounting standards
Tax & Regulatory
- Prepare GST/PST/US sales tax returns and support corporate tax filings
- Prepare year-end tax note working papers and disclosures
Payroll & Bonus
- Review payroll journals and ensure appropriate accruals are recorded
- Manage EHT accruals and ensure sufficient funding on payroll dates
Team Leadership
- Supervise, coach, and develop one or more Accounting Technicians
- Support process improvements and provide guidance and coverage to the team
YOUR PAST MISSIONS - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation is required
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience or public practice experience in a supervisory/review capacity
- Public company experience and/or high-tech industry (or similar) experience an asset
YOUR TOOLKIT - Possess a strong technical accounting foundation with expertise in US GAAP, complemented by robust research skills to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting
- Experience with ERPs (NetSuite); QBO, Tipalti, Maxio experience an asset
- Experience in a multi-currency, multi-entity environments
- Detail-oriented and able to coordinate multiple activities at the same time
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, changing environment
- Advanced Excel skills
YOUR COMPENSATION
Base Salary Range: $80,000-$110,000 CAD annually
This range is based on Vancouver, BC-derived compensation for this role. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, education, and location.
