We're recruiting a Facilities and EHS Manager to join our operations team in Emeryville, CA who will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day facility needs and our EH&S program. This position will be trusted to provide insight and expert-level advice on critical subjects such as facility management, building a safety-oriented culture and compliance. This role reports to Geltor's Chief Operating Officer.
What you'll do:
*Be extremely detail-oriented about developing and maintaining facilities that serve as an inspiring, functional and safe/compliant place for Gellies, recruits, customers, community members, investors, sub-tenants and other stakeholders.
*Serve as main point of contact with property management and sub-tenants to ensure correct building maintenance and compliance with lease agreements.
*Own all facility projects. You will be responsible for either executing them directly or coordinating their execution. This includes utilities (HVAC, water, power/backup power, electrical system, etc), pest control, janitorial, access control/security, various facility service/maintenance contracts, building preventative/corrective maintenance activities, all life and safety systems (fire alarm, suppression, fire protection, etc), and the safety and appearance of equipment.
*Lead, communicate and organize efforts to manage facility emergencies.
*Lead the design, development and implementation of EHS strategies, programs, policies, processes, systems and training based on industry best practices.
*Monitor, interpret, and assess existing or emerging EHS laws, regulations, regulatory policies, industry practices, and determine operational and business impacts. Plan and participate in EHS compliance assessments and audits.
*Manage contracts, permits, and licenses related to facilities and EHS, including building permits, contract negotiations, and vendor COI.
What you'll need:
*Comprehensive experience managing Facilities and EHS policies, staff, standards, programs, and procedures, preferably at a Biotech or Life Sciences company
*Compliance oriented mindset with demonstrated competence in developing and implementing strategy, responding to challenges, maintaining critical documentation, and mitigating risks
*Demonstrated experience managing engineering and capital projects including relationship management and coordination of architects, general contractors, project managers, and outside vendors and contractors
*Strong desire to champion EHS excellence throughout Geltor
*Ability to exercise formal and informal authority to influence a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, R&D, scientific staff, and third-party contractors/plant personnel.

How you'll be compensated and supported:
*Starting salary of $160,000 to $175,000 per year, based on skills and experience
